I took mine apart when I was looking at mounting options and the cable entry point is sealed. However, there is no seal between the camera housing and the rear mounting plate. its direct plastic to plastic contact, so I would recommend those doing an exposed install remove the 4 phillips screws, apply a thin layer or sealant and reassemble. This should fix any water issues. Should not be an issue with the covered install like I have pictured above
is everybody happy enough with these that they would pay the 80 or 100 full price? i am thinking of picking up a couple for my trucks
thanks
The first one I bought for myself was $99 from Sam's Club. Yes, I was and am still happy with it. It was well worth $99 at the time. I think it still is.
Then, 4 or 5 months later, by accident, I stumbled across the clearance price of $25.79 in my local Sam's on their Internet web page. It was too good to be true, but it was. That's when I grabbed a few dozen and made them available to the members here for the same price. My wife checked our local Sam's while she was there yesterday, just in case they had a few more laying around. But they didn't.

I think they are $79 regular price and yes I too think they are worth that... good quality screen thats easy to see in the sunlight. you can connect DVD or game system to it also as it has seperate AV in. I paid $60 and still think it was a good deal
hey guys I read this thread a few weeks back and figured that this is the place to ask.... I got the 7" backup system and I am putting it on my dump truck. Only thing is I need to splice the wire from the camera to the sender. Is it just a triple wire that I can cut and splice in an extra 10 feet of wire??? I was just wondering, I don't want to butcher it. thanks!
If you are talking about the wire from the camera to the transmitter with the RCA plug on it, that is a shielded cable so best not to cut it. just buy an RCA extension cable
I hate to do it, but since I've been laid off, I need to sell the two cameras I got a while back (still in the package - unopened). Email me if anyone wants one or both, and we can talk details outside of the forum. ips.llco@gmail.com
I haven't used mine in I don't know how long. I have moved my sender twice and finally got a good signal on the wireless but still can't find a good area to mount the screen.
Just thought I would mention that I have had no water or moisture issues with my camera... see my earlier posts on mounting it in the rear hatch cover...
Can someone give me details on this? The camera, can I plug it into the rear cigarette lighter? The screen, does it come with windshield mount and cigarette lighter adapter? I've been after one of these for a while, as everyone in my office has a tiny car and I keep losing when they dip below my horizon. What sort of wiring is needed? People mention a sender, i'm assuming that just goes inside to send the signal to the screen, but does it branch off for power as well? Thanks.

There is a screen that has one plug for power. It has a cig adapter on the other end. That's all you need at the screen side. The screen came with a holder/mount that could be mounted to the dash or the tranny tunnel.
The sending unit taps into your tail lights for power and your reverse light to know when to turn on.
Very simple hook-up.
I was using it the other night and in complete darkness, just the light from the reverse lights was enough to be able to see when backing. I was impressed.
Where did everyone install the transmitter for the camera ? instruction says put inside vehicle, did you all drill a whole through the body somewhere ? Got mine yesterday at sam's for $50 before reading this whole thread..
