Engine Swap:
I want to get rid of all the electronic junk in a Bronco ll. Is there any engine from the points era that I can swap in that is compatable withe the 5 speed 4x4, besides a V8?

Or save the time and do a tri-power setup (you'll need to change the fuel pump out for low-pressure...) and convert the ignition to Duraspark/HEI/TFI (gofastforless.com homebrew). You just have to find the right 2-bbl carbs and fab up the upper intake adapter. I honestly do not understand why you want to get rid of your 2.9 unless you plan on doing a 4.0 or V8 swap, but to each their own.
