Well, I'm sure happy I'm not a product of that society. I'm 17 and will work my fingers to the bone. I have nothing but respect for someone else's hard work, from an individual to a national corporation. I can't think of anything more revolting than having to pay more for MY service because guys like this one think they have the key to control the system!

I suppose the answer to the question is this. It is not recommended or lawful to disconnect the speedometer so as to decieve others including the ford service department into thinking your vehicle has less miles than actually travelled.

However, if the thread posters are correct, in saying the speedometer cluster and computer both have mileage logged in their memory, the answer to the question would be this. It would be possible if you had a second computer/ dash cluster assembly and swapped in the spare setup for awhile. Then you could swap back at a later date and your original assembly would have less miles than the truck actually travelled, but it would be a crime if you led others to believe the mileage shown on the display was actual.

Mileage is recorded for every dealer visit, every emissions test, every safety test, during a major accident, and is usually available with a report. All you would have to do is get caught one time with false mileage and your existing warranty is void, even if you travelled less miles than warranty maximums. In my opinion, definately not worth the risk. It could even happen with oil change records showing fraudulant mileage.

Seriously, think about what WeWonIt said.

Find a new girlfriend. Seriously.

Someone who can do that to her parents was raised VERY differently than you were.

She's going to have a VERY different view of how to raise her kids than you will have, and if you stay with her you'll have to face that fact eventually.

Now NEVER come back here complaining how you're being treated by her, or about anything she's done. Consider this a warning by your friends.

Seriously.

Wow, I know we have strayed far from the original post, but...
Where did that come from?

Sharpshooter,
You will have plenty of assistance with a blown plug on a V10 in the Modular V10 forum... https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/forum49/ , here is one with only 47K on the V10...https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/8...47k-miles.html
