I used the same fluid in the front and rear. I used motorcraft synthetic.

For the trans fluid, the new "Mercon" labeled fluid is fine for the trans. They re-formulated the Dex3/Mercon and MercV that used to be sold so that now everything runs on one fluid. When I bought trans fluid a year ago, it was hard to find Dex3, only the new blend stuff could be found.
On the trans filter, don't bother. Mark Kovalsky, the guy who worked as a engineer on these trannies, says that if the filter is bad enough to need replaced the trans should be replaced with it.

How you doin' Mac?
3 73 should be on one line as I typed it. If there is an L between 3 and 7
that means limited slip. If it is a space that means open diff, not LS.
The S stands for Sterling.
405 = Print Number (Model Number)
The 4 in the top line should be a letter, not a number. Maybe its an A.
It's the Revision Identifier (Change in Design)
The 2c5 should be 105 for 10.5 inch ring gear.
The c821 could be 8C21. Check it again. 8 for year built. In this case 1998. C for March and 21 for day in March.
