Ok guys go to the link above, and if you go to the bottom of the page the last picture on the left shows the plug that im talking about behind the kickpanel. Its the black plug in front with the wires that look like they run up through the door jamb.

You could just cut the plug off of the harness and then tap the brown wire the the existing brown wire on the plug on the truck and then just ground the black wire.

You already have the overhead console factory installed right? There should be a harness that runs to that plug that the cab light harness plugs into. There is a different harness for trucks that have both cab lights and the overhead console. On my truck when I installed my cab lights (factory installed overhead console), I just tapped the brown wire in the existing harness and put the ground around some bolt that was down there.

Here is what i ended up doing. Since i really do not have that much electrical experience i kind of paniced when this happened, but Ziggy here on the board gave me his number and i called him. After discussing it and hereing about his experience on the cab lights that he has installed before i found out that my truck even though being a lariat from the factory does not have vanity lights, which i did not even notice untill today. That i figured is why the plug that i have behind the kick panel did not match up to the plug that came on the new harness that i got from FORD. I do have the factory overhead console. So what i did was cut the two plugs off of both the harnesses and tried my hand at soldering the factory kickpanel harness, and the new light harness together. Which i might add turned out great, and the only wire that i had left was the green for which was supposed to be the vanity lights. EVERYTHING WORKS!!!

my second plan of action would have been to done something like Jeff suggested and butcher the new harness of its Black and Brown wires to run them down the drivers side Apillar and connect them into the lights. And leaving the factory overhead console harness alone.

Thanks Guys this has helped out a bunch. Austin

reps to the both of you

Were you installing factory cab lights or Recon's?
