water pump

are there any special tools that i will need for replacing the water pump? any that are out of the normal.

You can "rent" a tool that will make getting the fan off a little easier but it is not needed a strap wrench and larges channel locks.

Like Alan said!!!! I did mine in my 99 and it took an hour and a half, make sure you have all gaskets before install and it will go quick. If I remember right the fan is reversed threads. Hopefully someone will chime in with a good memory. Good Luck

well so i did it without any problems besides forgetting to hook the coolant hose backup that goes on the bottom of that clear fill tank ontop of the radiator. other than that it only took about an hour and ahalf thanks guys to all yall's help.

Thanx for the link it will come in handy as I have to replace mine as well. Where did you get your replacement pump from? One better than the other or OEM just fine?

Got mine at O'Reillys for 130.00, Ford wanted 270.00

Heres the one piece from Orielly's it does away with the lower extension tube and gasket and it has a lifetime waranty
