It is stock height right now but it is a highboy model. These things are awesome. It clears 37's I just had to bend one small corner of the inside of the fender. Which is good because I found a guy here in town that sells military surplus tires for about $50 a piece.
The truck looks better in pictures than it actuall does lol but I am doing my best to change that. I have a friend who is going to show me how to pull the 300 million dents out of it.
haha that explains why it looks lifted the highboy part....and if it looks anything like the pictures its already nice...how much did u pay for it again? and 50 bucks a peice! you cant find a better deal anywhere!! good job with the build so far
Remembered that it seem backwards from what you'd think, so had to look.
That is correct. Dropping the front of the hinge will lower the back of the hood. Dropping the back will put the hood closer to the cowl. Like I said before, it is a major pain adjusting the hood untill you get it figured out as to loosening what moves what.
What you need to do is drop the back of the hood and also move the entire hinge toward the front of the truck about a 1/4" to open up the gap at the cowl. When it is set perfect you should just get your fingertips inbetween the grille shell and front of hood.
No updates yet. I ended up having some problems with my motorcycle and had to spend my time getting those sorted out. I am going to try and get the power steering conversion started on Monday or Tuesday since I have to drive the truck to a friends house to use a welder. I should be able to weld up the small holes in my door and get that hung at the same time. So hopefully I should have something to show by mid next week.
On the hood hinge-they are correct. If you raise the front (it seems counter intuitive) the springs pulls over center better and therefore pulls the back of the hood down better.
have not gotten around to working on the hood yet. Got kind of lazy lol. I did however get the big project of doing the power steering conversion this weekend. I It drives like a dream now. No more slop in the worn out gear box and no more one sided power steering (yes it only worked on one side despite me trying to adjust it numerous times). I did learn on this little endeavor that I need to buy a welder.
I got set back a few hours due to my friend helping and drilling all of the holes wrong on the frame and extra plate we welded on the outside of the framefor strength. The pictures are still on his camera so I will post them up when I can get them sent to me.
