my drain plug is on the passenger side of the transmission in the bottom rear corner on the same side as the side cover and the fill plug is about 4 inches straight up fromthere
Does anyone know where I can get a fan shroud for the radiator? I have tried junk yards bu they do not know if what they have will actually fit on my truck. the two places I have seen them new are 150 bucks or so. Is there anywhere I can look to find them cheaper? I ran a search on here but came up dry.
just an update, I spent a few days last week working on the truck. I got the brakes figues out and the parts I needed came in last Saturday but I have not had a chance to put them on yet. I hooked up the power assist steering and when I turned the wheel to the left it didn't seem to work and it would not let me turn the wheel to the right so I disconnected it and bought some replacement parts off of ebay for about 25 plus shipping. It saves me a couple hundred from buying new parts but thats only if they work. I guess I will find that out in Monday.
I am assuming the gear box is fine since I can steer fine manually when the power steering pump is not hooked up. eventually I will go to full power steering steering but I am out of a job right now so I need to get this thing running on the cheap.
The truck was up north in Chino Valley where there is a little more snow and moisture I am down in Phoenix, but the center of the bed is the only place on the truck with any rust that I can tell. As soon as I get some money rolling in I am going to replace the center section and fix the dents and dings in the rest of the bed. Maybe I can teach myself how to do body work lol.
i noticed that your truck has a tool box door on the passenger sid e of the bed. is that a factory ford option/model or is it an atfer market thing. I've only seen two like that here in Virginia
I am pretty sure the tool box is a factory option but I am still learning myself so someone else may have a better answer. I am oing to use it as an all purpose off road/ camping/hunting truck. It won't always be pretty but it will run well and be comfortable. But I do need it to look good enough to be parked infront of my house in the city lol, so I have alot of work to do. I got a line on some wheels for it I am going to look at tomorrow.

Same here and the salesman actually tried to talk me out of it too. :)
The brochure shows a "Skilsaw" in it and the salesman said...
"it's not going to stay clean in there, you'll be disappointed in it"
I told 'im...
"I figured as much, but pictured putting tire chains in it :)"
"oh, well it'd be ok for that :/"
{well, duh}

Mine is empty. When I opened it, it had the factory jack in there...because a PO installed air horns where the factory jack was. I can't imagine how noisy it was, it banging around in the toolbox. It had a pool from what looks like a tube of chassis grease leaked on.
I don't have a key for it, I need to remove the latch and take it to a locksmith. When I do, I'm gonna fill it with something...like an emergency tool kit.
