Up-pipe lessons

Same thing with my passenger side up-pipe. I sawed it off at the flange because one bolt was frozen and when I unbolted it from the exhaust manifold the small piece in the flange fell out. 
Could have saved myself from using the sawsall.

Preparing for this replacement, I did a lot of reading on the up-pipes. Seems that everyone who has had issues, its been on the passenger side. I wonder why that is?
