oh i have to say Dean88 that im no expert by far im still learning all this stuff and i could even be wrong but not afraid to admit when i am wrong and have been wrong in the past
I guess I'll just have to show you up then, cuz my chat don't stink, but sadly my farts give me away every now and then.
According to wiki, as schedule goes up so does wall thickness.
My Dad told me that higher schedule = thicker sidewall
Its def some good stuff, hopefully it will be just what dyoung needs to get his project up and running, I just wish he didnt have to spend money to get it bored out just a tad, but I've never heard of 5.25 ID (the ID of the airbreather) anything.
dyoung you said ya yer using a carb seal right? y not get an air filter spacer and use that for a pressure chamber then its the right size, they make them pretty tall
Good news tomorrow I'll send out 12'' of 5'' of 3/8'' sidewall pipe
Bad news is that you'll need to take it to a machine shop if ya want to use it because of two reasons.
1. The ends are real ugly. (I'm not sure if a chopsaw will get it as straight as you want it)
2. I measured and the intake on my 7.3 is 5 and 3/16'' across, but there is enough sidewall in the pipe to be able to take it to a machine shop and get them to shoulder it out 3/32.
All in all it'll probably cost you a good 20-40 bucks depends on the machine shop.
i had already planned on doing that dean, im going to give it to my grandpa and he will take it to work and get them to turn it true an a lathe and i will get the hole turned bigger. thanks a bunch for the pipe man

yea, but it might not cost me nothing to get it bored out.
Dyoung, sorry I didn't get it sent out yesterday, the starter went out on my truck (aaaah), and couldn't get to the Post Office in time, I'll try again today

Starmilt would probably tell you that it's too bad your not getting that free pipe from a guy with a Dodge in the driveway. They start sooooo easy the starter will probably never wear out.
