Whaddupp Nephew???????????????? Yes we did pretty decent yesterday. We had a couple setbacks yesterday that didi cost us a couple hours. Guy I got the engine from welded the motor mounts solid. So they (both sides) had to be cut apart. had a little trouble getting the usuall torque converter and guide pins lined up. But we did allright. we shold have em' back on all fours by next weekend.
Weather permitting we should be able to finish next week. Wet out and cool again today, I really doubt it if anything happens. Didn't even make it to church today, and it's Easter Sunday. leaving in a little bit to take the rented "cherry picker" to springfield. If I can get one cheap enough, and make room to put it, I'd buy one.
Hey no problem Bob, at least we got it to where you wanted to be. It sure wore me and my patience out lol.
I don't know if I'll be able to help next week end, I'm supposed to start reroofing a house this week, as long as it doesn't rain for a week or so.
Lee if you have something lines up allready that's fine. You've been plenty of help, thanks again.
As most know i am a Craigslist certified junkie. Bored, it's raining out.... again. Looked around and found a 460, with 75k on it, on an engine stand, for $200.
We did notice one other thing while working yesterday. We removed the oil filter that we put on last week, after the oil pump. The filter we removed (New, with maybe 15 minutes on it) had nothing inside. It was spottless. What can you make out of that? Good oil pressure cold, falls to near nodda as it warms up. Now nothing in that new filter?
Will start dis-assemgling the old motor after things settle down around here.
You go ahead. I'll be happy/lucky if I can ge one engine finished that I have allready. I'd like to have a 390 or 460. But not up to all the conversion. Unless it came with a donor truck with parts to use.
Well today is a boring day for me wish I had a car or truck to work on. And yes I like that stuff too. ( for a girl ). I don't know much but, always like to learn and get right in there to get dirty.
Ha now that's what we BF/Hubby's like to hear, here is Penny (who owns her own creeper) in the middle of it all. Was changing the stock intake and carb, to a Eldebrock/Holly set up on ol Red.
I found some bent push rods and when Penny was getting us some more beer (best I can remember) she said "what else can I do?", I love that woman.
She pulled the valve covers and we changed 4 bent one's, and she relpaced the gaskets and put it back together.
And we love it when our siblings are like, "hurry up I want to know it those will fit with the 4' lift, or do I have to get you to install the 6". Gotta love the "sis", off with the 315"s and on with 375"s? Micky Thompson's ATZ's.
Actually she was doing the QC (quality control) job making sure I did it right, and to her likeing, LOL
Ended up having to put on the 6", and duel front shock kit and D/S drop shim, and do a bit of front fender trimmimg, then it got K&N, chip and big dump exhaust.
So hell yea girl's, get involved, that way us guys can get it done faster.
