Talking

Just replaced mine, Dealership first said I had to replace the entire drive shaft, I have a good break, tire and suspension guy. He kept on the dealership, they had to call Ford and I got the replacement boot. I lost mine doing 75 mph on the way to Florida, sounded like a machine gun going off

I just bought a boot for mine at the dealer last week. The parts guys had a hard time finding it but did. Part number is FOF81Z-4421-BA, came with the clamps for $29. Easy to put on.

What year are your Excursions? Supposedly that part number only applies to 10/99 and older.

Hmmm, I have a 2000. Does anybody know if the parts are actually different, or just a money grub on ford's part??

Does anybody know if it would fit?

Decided it was worth trying, went to the dealership, bought a F81Z-4421-BA and installed it in less than an hour. Part number is good

Glad to hear it! I ordered one from FTE parts guy as well, but I haven't had a chance to install it yet.
