Where's the post that has the Ford parts tag info?
EDIT: Nevermind, I found it. There nothing fishy about that label at all. It's not a Ford parts label, either.
It's the frame manufacturer's ID label, as Ford did not make their own frames. Prolly American Frame & Axle, as Ford used this company for decades to make all their frames.
These ID tags were usually installed on the passenger side outer frame rail, about a foot or so to the rear of the front frame horn on every car/truck beginning in the 1930's.

Actual Ford part numbers do not appear on any parts after 1956. Only ID numbers can be found on parts.
If you do find a stenciled part number or parts tag/label on a part, it wasn't installed at the factory.
The specific labeled part was purchased from a dealer and installed later. Usually this is seen on body parts replaced due to damage.
N.D, you are a legend. Thank you for the info and dishing out the facts reagrding the frame numbers.
Blimey, the 250'sw/350's had I6's? Would there be a likely difference in the gearing between a C6 I6 trans and a C6 for the V8's?
Shift points might be different, but could have been adjusted when installed in your truck. Will it rev out when you stand on it? Does the automatic downshift work properly?
