got a 1999 f250 7.3 with the auto tranny 20 bolt tranny pan. the transmision overheated the other day on the highway. ussually stays around 150 and it hit 180 and i pulled over then later on it went to 220 deg. just put all new fluid in and filter. just took it out and same thing happened. did i kill it?
the fluids are at the right level. i was just on the highway, looked at trans temp and said 125 deg. like 10 min later i took a quick look at it and it was at 220. from a cold start and running it takes about 15 min for it to get around 200 deg.
Dan -What brand of gauges do you have? I recently had a similar problem w/mine but mine was bouncing erratically. Diesel manor is sending me a new amp box for it.
i got a set of autometer gauges but they arent bouncing around or anything just a steady incline when running and wen i turn it off it does drop back down
