Bad sensors maybe? There was a thread quite awhile ago about where you could get replacement sensors fairly cheaply. It may have even been ebay. I will look for the thread. Have you done a search (I know that some have been having problems w/ it)?

Same problem here

My BU system went bad about 3 months ago on my X. I found the control module and took a VOM and did a resistance check from the module connector to each sensor. All sensors read the same. So I bought a new module. Did not fix the problem. So I bought two new sensors and replaced each sensor with a new one to see if it was a bad sensor. Did not fix the problem. So after almost $300 in sensors and control module, mine is still broke. The OFF light on the dash switch is on all the time. Now that the weather is better and I have time to fix it, I just wish I could find some specific info on how the system functions or some basic troubleshooting techniques or lessons learned from people who have fixed their BU system.

Would appreciate anyone pointing us in the right direction.

If it is a problem with one or more sensors, the Ford part # for our trucks is (inners and outers are the same part #):
3F2Z15K859 BA

IIRC they are expensive at Ford.

They sell them on Ebay (don't know anything about the seller or the quality, but the price is good):

$7.99 each

ford backup sensors, eBay Motors items on eBay.com

If you can get it scanned by a good scanner you can see if theyre are any codes for each individual sensor.I had the same problem on mine and had too replace 2 sensors and i had some chaffed wiring by the trailer hitch you should check there as well.I bought my sensors on ebay for around 45 dollars.Good luck let us know.
