ball joints

which ones typically go bad? top or bottom?

I put the front end of my 05 F350 on stands & dried to get some movement out of the joints by grabbing the bottom & top of the tire & lifting up & down.

I got more movement out of the drivers side than the pasenger side. I couldn't watch the joints & lift up & down on the wheels at the same time so I had my boy in front of the truck watching the joints.

He said he thinks he can see the bottoms move a little. (I can feel the movement so I know there's movement)

the truck is new to me & still has a short dealer waranty on it, I think it might cover this.

I bet they'll be very excited to get to work on it for me huh?

any thoughts?

Since this has nothing to do with the 6.0 you might want to go to the SD section. You will get a better response over there.
