Aftermarket backup camera
Here is another one:

I'm in the same situation. I would like a GPS, and I would like a BU camera, and don't want to spend $1k for an in-dash unit. But I also want a really good GPS. The Nextar and 4UCAM brands would be a gamble. Why don't you buy first, and then let me know?

I have added a wireless backup camera to my excursion and would have to say it is wonderfull. I have the one like the winplus. very easy to hook up, has the night vision, and only blurs slightly when turning on during reverse. I have it mounted just above the rear view mirror, (because that is were u look to back up) and have it wired to turn on when I put shift lever into reverse. It also has a second video input so u could use a second camera at the back of the trailer. I have no need for one so haven't looked for one but suppose you could get a hold of a wired one from fleebay. Simple button on monitor to switch to second source. Makes parking these beasts a lot easier in tight spots.
Out of A school Miramar was my first pick, second was Barber's Point, Hawaii. I wanted to be where Top Gun was. In fact, my squadron's hanger was the one from the movie where "Fightertown USA" was painted on.
wallz, is yours the Winplus like the one on Amazon? Or are you just saying yours is a similar wireless? If you could give a little more info about your model I would appreciate it.
This is the Amazon unit:

Dang Pat, you got me lusting for another gadget.
I had second pick of orders out of "A" school, but most were either P-3's (which I didn't want) or A-7's at Lemoore.

Packaging is different, but it is the winplus brand. (up in Canada so everything is different)
All of the mounting options they sent didn't work for my books, so I just zip tied loosely to the wiring running to the rear view mirror. Has inferred so it works nicely at night even with stock backup lights.

If you only need something for hooking up a trailer and not parking...here is another solution that is much quicker to install and a lot cheaper and its removable. I got one from Overton's.

How did you fasten the monitor above your mirror like that? I would like to put mine in the same place. My GPS & XM Roady take up my open spots right now.

I installed one that mounts on the license plate , but it sits too low for lining up the trailer. it's good for side to side alignment but you can't see the depth. you need it up high thats why ford put it in the tailgate handle. mine is mounted on my ARE lid just under the handle for openning. I'm at least now 90% at lining it up, saves alot of jumping in & out. I got off e-bay a 5.5" monitor and mounted it in the little door with the plastic cup (junk bin), the cup comes off easily enough. I just drop the door down and flip the switch on and I can see it all. It's great when backing into tight spots you can put the truck right up to the vehicle or whatever to within an inch. I'll post some pics tomorrow.
