If there was a way you could build some sort of enclosure from behind, and maybe a plexiglas window in front, that might resolve the moisture problems. A lot of work, though.
Good info on the VR3, Thanks! I'm commercial nuke, Ft. Calhoun Station outside of Omaha. I was an Airdale in the Navy, airframe/hydraulics tech on A-7 Corsairs.
Good luck with the camera. I installed my Peak camera last night. I like the small size as all I use it for is hooking up trailers.
I mounted the monitor on my visor so it's out of the way. Reception was adequate.
The only downside, so far, is the image rotation is pretty limited (L/R).
I was a sub navy nuke; worked at Point Beach for 9 yrs.; and now going into my 9th year at Prairie Island.
Keep us updated on how it's working. What are you doing at Priairie Island? I'm the Portable Radiation equipment tech here at Ft. Calhoun.
Electrical Maintenance training. My cube neighbor is one of our RP instructors (Milich) and he's a die hard Chevy fan. No end to the ribbing between the two of us.
That would be something I wouldn't mind having. Like to get a screen small enough for the visor, and one that is wireless. I guess my biggest concern is the wireless signal.
Here is the monitor in my 09 F550, it is a 10.4" wide screen, and clips over your rear view mirror. When off, you can use it as a mirror, and it has 2 inputs, this is the upper camera while I'm towing the 57. The wiring is easy to hide without taking anything apart, and the connections end uder the column for easy access. I got it on Ebay, for $110.
