I was thinking aluminumm trick flow heads, edlebrock intake manifold, holly carb. I was origionally thinking 408 stroker kit with .030 overbore but if im going to spend the money why not go 427 with .040 overbore(other than the fact that it will probably burn 2 gallons to the mile, lol.).

I built my 393 w/the Trick Flows and it has a lot of power. I don`t know if a bigger engine would be streetable/practible or even desirable because I`m on the ragged edge now.But the `74 and earlier blocks are thicker around the main webing.

It is my understanding that you've got to have the right deck height 351 block for the 427 stroker kit to work? Check out World Engines home page for the correct info.

thanks. i thought it would probably need to be notched at the bottom. Ive seen coast high performance has a 427 stroker kit that looks pretty nice. i just wasnt 100% sure if the block could handle being bored .040 over. i know that .060 is to much for some of these blocks if they are not tested.

The bore and stroke for a 427ci = 4.125 bore x 4.00 stroke

I can highly recommend HTC (Hank the Crank) in SoCal. They have been building strokers since the 1950's and have forgotten more than what most know about these engines!!!!!!!!!

427 stroker

I HAVE AN 351W OUT OF A 1995 F 150 I AM WANTING TO BUILD IT INTO A 427 STROKER. I AM BUILDING THIS TRUCK INTO A PLOW TRUCK/ PULLING/ HAULING TRUCK. ANY SUGGETIONS ABOUT KITS THAT WOULD WORK WITH THE EFI 351 I AM WANTING ALOT OF TORQUE. AND I AM ALSO WONDERING IF F-350 LEAFS, COILS, AND SHOCKS WILL DIRECTLY BOLT INTO MY TRUCK WHICH IS A 1992 F-150 SHORT BOX REG CAB.

i need suggestions for a cam, what i should do to the heads, intake injectors air intake system, throttle body throttle body spacer, lifters, rockers, distributor, ignition box, should i bore it and line bore it, and then suggestions for transmission work shift kit? can i rebuild it with a kit for a 1 ton? any special torque converter that would be better than others. is there a company that makes lockers for the front and rear of this year, or atleaste limited slip. what about sway bars? how much taller of a tire will fit on it with the 350 suspension? i am wanting to make this one serious work truck that will go any where i need to and pull any thing i want to. should i put 3/4 ton or one ton axles under it. any suggestions on how to beef up anything on this truck would be greatly appreciated.

by the way this truck has 262000 on it and its had a very rough life. so it has earned it atleaste a freshen up.because the body is in good shape for the year and the miles.

Mike.. in all honesty with the laundry list of modification you are planning you'll be further ahead just going out and buying a 1-ton 460 powered truck. Bolting 1-ton suspension and axles under a 1/2 ton truck just gives you a 1/2 ton truck with big axles, it doesn't increase the payload any because the frame is still WAY smaller than it needs to be. The other thing is about the engine, as far as I know the reliable service limit of a production block is 60 thou over so you'll need a racing block for that stroker kit. A production 460 with a few upgrades will be a far cheaper and longer lasting than a 351 blocked bored to the limit.

It would be a good idea to have the block sonic checked to make sure it will have thick enough cylinder walls after boring. This becomes more critical for a stroker engine due the different rod thrust angle.
