hi, has anyone used one of the reproduction f1 grills? everything i have seen used so far has been either bent or rotted...just thinking time spent on reworking one...might be worth getting a "new" one.. just wondering how the quality/fit seems to be... any thoughts?? thanks...r
I think the only repops are fiberglass. You might be able to buy the individual cross bars in steel but I'm not sure.
If you haven't already done so you should order a whole slew of catalogs from the various vendors;
LMC
Dennis Carpenter
Concourse Auto parts
Macs
etc, etc, etc
Sometimes just the pics in the catalogs are worth their weight in gold
hi, thanks for the reply, i started wondering if the grills were glass as soon as i posted this question. im gonna call tomorrow to verify...if they are glass ill keep looking around for a better original.. if anyone has one dont hesitate to contact me... thanks...r
I just saw a catalog from Obsolete Ford Parts Co. They list a grille assemble for a 48-50- F-1. They claim it is assembled from individual pieces like the original. I don't know if it is fiberglass or not but call them or e-mail them and check it out if you are interested. E-mail is obsoletereliableparts.com phone # is 229 686 2470 or 229 686 5101. Fax # is 229 686 7125. Located in Nashville, Ga.
