I just purchased a Carriage Works Brushed Billet Grill. I can't figure out what part of the grill housing gets cut? Or what I should use to cut the plactic housing. Has anyone istalled one? If so, what did you use to cut the plastic housing? And what part did you cut?

 

I didn't cut anything when I installed my aluminum grille (I can't recall the maker). All three of the "egg-crate" inserts in the Excursion's grille can be removed WITHOUT cutting. If you study their retaining clips closely, you will see where 1 or 2 small screwdrivers will disassemble the whole shooting match.

 

I have the Carriage Works grille for my F250 very similar to the X ... I used a sawzall to cut the inner portion of the grille out and then used a palm sander (dremel also works) to sand down the rough edges

Did you break any of the clips, or was it real tence doing it.

 

No, I did not break any clips. Just took my time with a couple small screwdrivers. In fact, I ought to offer up the grille inserts on eBay for anyone who's looking for replacements.
