We paid $6,500 for it. We were prepared to go to 10,000 for it.
Pics to come tomorrow. Didn't want to move a truck around with a bajillion morons walking around kicking tires.
Tomorrow I'll see if I can pull it out of the lineup and open all the compartments and get some pics. Maybe play with the crane a little too.
Not 1 person bid against us aside from the truck's previous owner.
We started the bidding at 2,000 and he let us have it at $6,500.
We're looking at an almost new (50 hrs) gas-powered Miller welder for it. We don't know if we'll keep it trailer mounted as it is now or mount it on top of the box and run the leads and controls into a compartment. Some pics to come tomorrow. Quality depends on weather and # of people wandering around on that side of the street. They're selling everything on the other side of the road tomorrow.
Pete, a 95 is actually getting to be an older truck for most people now a days. What model is the IH? What tranny, and how heavy are the axles? Tires? (they make a huge difference in cost of the truck)
For an average truck liek that, up here they can go from 10-4- grand in that age, all factors considering.
On edit: 6500 is cheap! Good purchase! How much did ya buy the other trucks for?

This truck is newer than the one our usual traveling mechanic has. The one he runs is a mid 80s vintage truck.
As for model and such I'm not sure. I'll look at some of that tomorrow.
Yea a 95 is a little older, but it was also 6500 bucks instead of 145,000 like a new one is. We can use the boom to change cutters on our tub grinder and change screens on our trommel screen. As well as have a mobile torch set. The compressor can also run a jackhammer.
Edit for Sheldy:
The rolloff went for 9,000 and the single axle Int'l was 4250. There were some more contemporary (2000 model year +)
tandem axle tractors that sold for 14-16,000 and they weren't any kind of rough either. Approx a half million miles on em.
Our 94 JD 490E was there (long story that involved sending it there for a little cash to pay the mortgage on the farm)
and it's nothing special. No quick coupler. It's got a hydraulic thumb. Incredibly worn out U/C. It bid up to 25,000. That's only 3k less than what we paid for it 3 years ago.
It seems like mid-priced stuff is going higher than usual and high priced stuff is going lower than usual.
Dont get me wrong Pete, Im not saying that a 95 isnt too old to use, hell I run a 87 western star for my gravel truck! But costwise, for a larger operation, 95 is ancient. That just means better deals for guys like us!
Hi folks, haven't been on the OT in a while, but our brother and friend Scott (Texas Outlaw) could use your help. He's very close to winning this round so if you can, check it out and vote for him. Link in my signature if you happened to miss it. Thanks

Larger operations tend to buy new anyways. We can't afford anything too much newer than trucks like the Int'l though.

btw 35 in tires aren't huge
1: DOT likes to bring out their little emissions testers in inspections. Black smoke is a bad idea.
2: 35s are plenty big when you want to be able to put anything like a walk behind mower in the bed.
