Not sure yet. Checked the fluid this week and it felt gritty to me. Truck is still shifting fine and fluid looks and smells fine just gritty. Not real sure what is going on with it but some have suggested the filter might be coming apart. That's what I am hoping for since I really don't have the $4100 for a new JW.

mine was the same way when i first got it. all kinds of grit in the oil, and sorta off color. i really thing i did the first trans service at 143K miles when i bought it. there was a pile of black stuff in the pan when i dropped it too. i changed the filter, pumped 6 gallons of fluid through it till it came out clean, and crossed my fingers.
that was almost 2 years and 10k miles ago.

Yea. I only wish Sunday wasn't rainy and the stinking stuff would've worked, but what happens happens. Nothing that can be done about it.
