Sounds great! Can't beat that kind of business. Glad to see you're staying busy man. Maybe the economy is starting to pick back up a little. That VW is a nice car and that mileage is fantastic!
Yeah, economy seems to be a bit better here now, but it's still got so far to go. I used to submit a bid on the job and get it the same day, now I am waiting, often fighting against multiple contractors to get the job. The last job I got, and I quote, was because "you have an honest face, we trust you." lol. well, whatever works...
Yeah, really. Take 'em however you can get 'em. Hey, if "honest face" works, go with it man. No doubt your craftsmanship reputation probably preceeds you too and that's got to help. Kudos bro'! As long as the work keeps coming, that's all you can ask for!
Yes it has, I know the feeling though. Ive been working a ton too, Im actually in MD right now for my sisters graduation. I got here tue morning and I leave tonight to go back to working all day...

Thats amazing Brent, I wish I had places like that around when I was a kid.

My brother is driving the tires off that VW!!! It's perfect. We did replace the timing belt (thanks for the advice Dan) and he's getting 44-45MPG with it. Should have kept it for myself.... Great car. In fact, the customer of mine I bought it from, is the one that wants one of the decks built. 45' long and 24' out from the house, sunk in hot tub, lights all around, clear cedar railings and composite decking. Oh, then a 12x12 pergola over the hot tub. ka-ching!!!!!!!!!!!!!$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Thats good to hear. That deck sounds like a nice place to have a party

You got it! I'm only 30, but been in business for 7 years now, and in the trades one way or another since I was about 14-15. Craftmanship is something I pride myself in, no doubt. I've had some really awesome teachers/mentors. One guy from Hawaii was the best, he just had a great work ethic and could frame a home like no other. We got to be very good friends and thats where the confidence came from to get started. He's framing in Kuaui right now...maybe I should go see him...

There will be a party on that deck for sure! There always is. We go to about 20 deck parties a year. Which is about how many I build..lol Just goes hand in hand.

Thats great Chris, good for her. Glad you had a good time.
I wouldnt mind seeing Fl though...Im sure there is plenty of cool stuff there.
Yeah the dinner parties, the deck and pool parties, those all create more work. I'm meeting my banker tomorrow to discuss having the bank interior remodeled. Met him on another job having a beer. I handed him a corona, we started talking, there ya go....easy as pie!

yeah could be fun. I had the chance to go and build some homes with him there, but I was building 2 homes at the time, and getting married that month, so it didnt work out. Darn wedding got in the way... If I had been thinking, I could have moved the weddding to Hawaii!!!!!!!!!
Heck yeah! That's what I'd have done......that or avoided it altogether............the wedding that is.
There's those days I wonder...
Have a good one John! I'll try to post again now and then, just gets so difficult when Im slammed. Tristan does a good job of keeping me in the loop though. Im sure he's on the beach right now with about 10 girls getting smashed...lucky sob..
D@mn! I shouldve known there was some evil learking (Brent) when I log in and I'm two 40post pages behind since this morning! lol!
Good to see ya on man!
I'm bored as crap, works pretty slow right now but I just got word and saw some drawings for a big job coming up. Its gonna be a royal PITA, but its better than sitting around with my thumb in that hole! The jobs gotta go date of 6/19..... That aint gonna happen but I bet there will be a lot of over time involved to try to get it out.
Yall folks be good and ill catch yall this evening.
