Hey John, i found something i figured you would like this morning.
my old ivory police whistle. it still has the button hook and chain on it, and a handcuff key.
this was given to me when i joined the force back in 75.
it was originally my grandfathers.
it is at least 100 years old.
Hey everybody! Tom that is way cool! There are times that I wish I had one. Directing traffic is a pain in the butt because no one listens or pays you any attention at all. I couldn't tell you how many close calls I've had. I've got reflective gloves but they make no difference at all. I think I'm going to get a whistle! Nice!!
no, if you had mine hangin from there it would age you!!.
mine said 74.
oops!! i just realized you said collage tassel.. i read it as high school tassel.
Yeah, the HS tassle says 2000. lol

this ivory whistle is way cool indeed John. i took it over to show my father when he could not remember what it looked like. then we went into headquarters, and played a bit in the prisoner transfer safety port. (otherwise known as a sally port for you non L.E.O. types) the ivory is almost twice as loud as the current metal junk the guys carry now.
Brad, Olivia is a doll! That is a great pic of the two of you.
Lisa, Remember give a man to fish an he will eat for a day, teach a man to fish and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day. At least you had some time kicking back and relaxing a bit.
Dan: The fence look great. Good idea ising the hangers.
Tom: Nice job on the wiring. Use a bit of Noalox on the connections and you won't have to deal with corrosion.
I am the luckiest guy in the world. We had my Mom over for dinner, she had to get going and J-L told me that I had to go outside for a while (read kicked out of the house) She called me back in and made a big bowl of fruit salad. Covered with Cool Whip. It was good! The thought behind it was awesome.

You know, that's kind of a trend isn't it? Nothing is made quite like it used to be. Great story behind that whistle Tom! Ah, the sallyport. Brings back memories of when we had our local jail. Now, we use a regional jail about 30 miles north of here. Real PITA it is!

Jim, that's really a great way to spend the day! You two are lucky to have each other buddy!
Sounds good David! Hope she gets to feeling better soon. It's going around here as well. Daughter was sick the other day and now my son has it. Never ending cycle.
