AIS vs. AFE II
I have read a couple of threads where people think the AIS is a great intake system. I have never used it, but from pics that I have seen it looks like it has a very small source for cold air intake. However, the AFE II that I have has a huge filter and the whole intake box/batterybox/headlight area for fresh "cold" air. Im not here to bash the AIS just curious what the hype is about.

I have the AFE II wtih the Dry S filter and Pete's cover. I haven't had any problems with this set up either. It does a good job of filtering and flows plenty of air. I tow a 12k fiver also.

AIS has great filtration, but is restrictive if you plan to make some serious HP. Sorry, but you won't see the AIS on any trucks making 450+ HP. It's a good setup, but it doesn't flow what you will need for high HP applications.
If you don't plan to make a ton of power, AIS is perfectly fine. If you are looking at power mods, AFE Stage II is where you want to go (or 6637 too).
