Did the GPR Mod today
All in all it wasn't too bad to do. I think the hardest part was fishing the wire through the hole in the original A pillar cover to bring it down under the dash.
I used 14ga. marine grade wire from the GPR to the light. Rather than put a fuse in the engine compartment, I place an in-line fuse in the line under the dash. Ran the ground wire to the same bolt under the dash that gets used for everything.
I scored the light from a local shop that puts all the warning lights on police cars and ambulances. It already had a little bezel around the light and made for a clean look.
I couldn't believe that it actually worked the first time either.
Thanks to all who posted pics and how to for this mod.
sflem849 (Scott) I even paid close attention to not let the chuck hit the pillar pod. Thanks
There's a few pics in on of my albums.

Nice, clean install. Congrats.
I'm seriously considering installing a pair of LEDs on my truck... one in the cab, and a second one under the hood for potential troubleshooting convenience. I've also considered going with a weatherproof marine grade LED on the cowl, though, as an alternative to the two LED approach -- there is a spot in the center of the cowl near the passenger side wiper arm post that I can see from either inside the cab or with the hood popped open.

I'm still waiting for Radio Shack to get the orange LED I ordered over 2 weeks ago! Mine's going in the dash near the ESOF switch because I already have a couple holes there from the car cell phone kit that was in my truck when I bought it (yes, there was a car phone kit in my truck when I bought it!)
