Hey All,
I finished building my "IDM Kill Module". Its basically an overengineered kill switch that allows the use of a hidden, momentary micro-switch to complete a ground circuit to the IDM. I have bench tested it, now I just need to find a nifty hiding spot to mount the switch.
This is the "camoflauged" enclosure which will be mounted under the dash. Doesn't look like an alarm or anything, so car thieves wouldn't suspect it when the truck doesn't start. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/a...pictureid=2632
I got the box from Radio Crack, i searched google for "ford part sticker" and photoshopped it, then stuck it on.
The switch will be hidden.. not sure where yet
I might consider building some more, I want to get it all installed first and figure out the rest of the wiring to make an actual easy to install harness. (I like to make things hidden/stock in appearance for the most part). Just waiting on some AllData info to complete.
That looks impressive. Now if you wouldn't mind, how about dumbing it down a bit, or a bunch so we understand how you did it. Something along the lines of buy this resistor, plug this wire onto this spade, plug it into the fuse panel like this, etc. I could build a box like that, but the odds of it working are pretty slim.

LOL I'm guessing he'll spill more of the beans when he gets everything finalized.
Quick question- say a very savvy thief breaks into your truck, can't get it to start... Digs around and finds this unusual box under the dash, so he unplugs it. Will the truck then start?
No, truck still won't start.. it would if he took the time to diagnose the wiring diagram on the inside cover, but nothing is labeled as to what it is/where it goes. Pretty fool proof I think.
