Busted pulley=loose steering

Looking for a little advice. I have a 2002 CCSB and a lost a pulley on the tension bracket setup a couple weeks ago. Of course I lost the power steering and had to crank like hell to turn the truck. I was lucky enough to be close to O'reillys and made it there and did a parking lot swap. But now I have a ton of play in my steering wheel (25-30*slop)and is almost scary to drive on the highway. Any one here have this happen to them and if so what was the problem. I don't know if I bent something or messed up the steering box or what. Any input is appreciated.

check that everything is tight from steering wheel to where the shaft goes into the steering box.If all is tight damage is inside the box
