Exclamation Need help with Mozilla FF & Thunderbird!

The video card on my laptop went. I need a new motherboard for it.

I removed the hard drive and can access its files from my desktop with a USB cable. I need to find the folder that has all my bookmarks & passwords so that I can import them into FF on my desktop. Same goes for my email addresses.

How do I do that?

I found a utility to transfer my bookmarks no problem, but the passwords were a pain. I tried several password transfer utilities, but they didn't work for me. I ended up writing them by hand, and re-entering them on the new one.

Check cnet downloads, and firefox add-ons. I deleted the utility from my new computer, but I will look on the old one and see if it is still there.

bookmarks.html, in your profile folder, the location of which varies by OS:

Mozilla or Firefox (For Mozilla profiles look in the Profiles subfolder,
for Firefox, look in Firefox\Profiles)

WinXP, 2K:
C:\Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Mozilla

Win ME, 98:
C:\Windows\Application Data\Mozilla

For Thunderbird, replace Mozilla with Thunderbird in above paths.

Your passwords are stored in two different files, both of which are required:

* key3.db - This file stores your key database for your passwords. To transfer saved passwords, you must copy this file along with the following file.

3.1:

* signons.sqlite - Saved passwords.

3.0:

* signons3.txt - Saved passwords
