Need Computer Help

My cd drive is not working. Went under device manager and it said

Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)

Can someone please help, my OS is Windows XP and my current driver is from Oak Technolgy.

I would try to remove the device from the device manager and reboot. XP should find the 'new' device and install the drivers for it.

yeah, I already tried that. Install said the device might not work properly, went back in device manager and it had the same message as above. I also downloaded the following update and it still won't work.

I may have found my problem! The only things I have deleted showed up on Adware, Spybot or AVG though.
