blown automatic tranny
hey guys
The tranny in my 02 f350 recently shat the bed, had the people at A&B transmission here in vancouver take a look at it. They sead it was completly toast most likely the torque converter went, there was large metal shavings all over the pan and filter. Was qouted 5g for a new transmission that they called "fairly built" to handle the 40 inch tires my truck has and 400hp est. I was just wondering what you guys would consider to be a good deal on a new transmission or any upgrades I should make sure are done to it. I have also been searching used trannys and they range from 500 - 1000 canadian dollars used. I was also told the V10 had the 4R100 behind, could i put one of those in?

Welcome to the site! megawatt00 said it best. Your tranny is the weakest link in your truck. A factory rebuild will get you another like the one you just had. A used one will get you less than what you had. As I see it, spend the money once and be done with it. If you're in the 400 hp range, a stock tranny will have a short life.

It appears that you live in the Vancouver, BC area. John Woods in southern Calif. would be closer for a tranny like you want. Brian's Truck Shop is in Arkansas, which much further away. John Woods will build a tranny to match what your needs are. Both places are about the same price. Search the two names in these forums for more information.
BD Diesel Performance in Abbotsford would be worth a call. They build performance trannys and are very close to you. I don't know much about them.

I see no other reason why our troops are dying in Afgan so I guess In Canada we are fighting for the US? Does this mean you will buy from us?
