Haropon Mod is cutting off the overflow tube inside tank so the fill nozl dont kick off to fast. usually after the nozle kicks off you can still put another bout 5 gal. once you cut off the overflow tube first click you bout gal off from you tank beeing toped off. requires dropping the tank...
What kind of inprovement does it give? And how would you keep the rain out+bugs?
MPG improvement? Maybe, but if - than not that great.
Performance? Maybe, but if - it's not really noticeable.
The cold air contain more oxygen, than hot air, the Zoodad mod could also be called cold air intake mod. You feed the cold air directly in to the air filter, so the combustion will/should be better, cleaner....

Hey Pete my truck's sticker said it has a 29 gallon tank. But when I fill up when the lie-o-meter is at zero it only holds about 22-23.5 with three clicks and me shaking the truck. Would the harpoon get me up to the 29gal.? Or would it get me 34gal.?Or would it do the same thing if I patiently put fuel in upwards of 29gal. This is something that i've wandered for a while "why it doesn't take 26-29gal. to fill".

Has anyone tried taking the bed off? I know the Chevy guys have figured out it's easier to do that than drop the tank on the early '90 model half tons.
I did the ZooDad to my truck back in October...no real noticable difference in performance or increased fuel mileage that I could prove either way. But I've noticed a slightly louder grumble when I walk in front of the truck when it's idling.
I didn't take the bed off........ but I lifted it. I removed all but the two bolts by the tailgate (I left those in to keep the bed from sliding). I then jacked up the end of the bed by the cab and put blocks of wood under both sides. It wasn't a ton of room, but I fairly easily removed the sending unit and did the harpoon job.
IMO - easier than dropping the tank.
Edit - If you do this mod, think real hard about installing a larger fuel pick-up tube. I wish I had.
