Bed shaking ?????

I know its normal for some bed movement especially when on uneven roads. However when driving at normal speeds going over some small ripples I've noticed shaking as if the bed was loose is this normal ??? I have tried to duplicate this when parked but I cant even budge the bed ?? 2005 SuperCrew

I have had the bed shake for two things:

1) I plowed and snow got stuck onto the insides of the wheels and made the bed/whole truck shake.

2) I had the sticking parking brake problem and that caused the bed of the truck to shake from the parking brakes being applied.

If you've ever taken I-25 North from Denver to Wyoming, it'll shake like a wet dog, but it's secure. You should see a Tundra on the same road. It looks PAINFUL.

The bed will have some movement over bumps, this is normal for most newer trucks. The frame rails become much smaller as they go under the bed. This helps to improve the ride quality by absorbing some of the bumps and keep some of them out of the cab. My truck does the same thing and it used to concern me till I realized the reason for it. It's normal, so not to worry.

I read somewhere that under normal conditions its not the bed shaking, its the cab moving, but in the mirror it looks like the bed. This is because the bed is solidly mounted on the frame and the cab has absorbers on the mounts to stabilize the shake so you dont feel it. Nothing to worry about, i see it on my truck as well. I might be wrong about everything, but thats what i read about the problem somewhere else on this board.

I have also heard and believe the same thing. But one thing I did notice was after I got my bed LINE-X It seemed to tame the "bed shaking" down a lot. Weird if it is not the bed moving...

It's not shaking that bad in reality. If you have a load in it, it doesn't shake at all. I went to Oak Express and got a bookcase for my basement, and there was a guy in a Tundra picking up an entertainment stand. I got onto I-25 heading South, and was cruising about 85 and caught up to the Tundra who was doing like 55. I thought the Tundra was going to throw the stand out of the back. My bookcase wasn't even moving though it looked like the bed was shaking a little. That's why I said it looks painful in a Tundra. That road's completely screwed up though, and heading North is worse. South isn't that bad.

Ford Fx4, the extra weight of the bedliner might have been enough to put a little pressure on the back end of the truck, i know it sounds crazy that the thin spray on bedliner is that much weight, but think about it when its still all the cans or bottles or drums that the liquid state comes in, it might not be much but maybe thats all the rear of the truck needed to put that extra pressure on the back to keep it from shaking a little. Just a thoughtAlso i know that some of the trucks sit more level than other, as far as trim packages go, i know mine sits a little higher in the back and i need a leveling kit, but if the back end is stuck up in the air more i would think that the wind would catch the tailgate more and cause some movement the faster you go. And i know its been beat to death about the aerodynamics of trucks and wind in the bed, but you know it could happen.
