I have a 09 Super Cab sceduled to be built on 3rd week Feb. Starting to think that I should get a Crew Cab? They just seem so big, or is it me. What is some opions on this. Thanks.
just get a crewcab you will love it. the super crew is very small. even when I go on trips by myself I wish I wish I had a crewcab. What do you plan on doing with the truck?
If you even think you'll be hauling more than a front seat passenger, get the crew cab. Not knocking the supercabs here. I tried a supercab before I ordered mine and had two kids in childseats then. There wasn't enough room for the seats in the back. I ordered the crew cab and have never regretted it.
Get the super cab. You can run a long bed without the truck taking up two parking spots and having a turning radius the size of Texas. Plus the jump doors are handier if its you getting stuff into and out of the backseat, and there's no pillar in the way when you load awkward things into the back seat. The back seat is only small if you trash your truck up, I had three 6+ ft tall guys ride in the back seat for 7 hours, it was only marginally worse than being cramed into a crewcab the next day for two more hours driving out to the lease.
I have two car seats. I just love my super cab now put think the crew would be easier. Is the turning radius that much different between the super cab and crew cab with both having 6 foot boxes?
I've had both and like both, depends on how often will you be toating
company around, all the time, or once in a blue moon.
For me all I ever toat is my daughter so the supercab is no problem
for me.
Since it's just the wife, myself and the dog, a Super Cab works very well for us. If you have kids or a lot of stuff you don't want to place in the bed (or you want to lock it up, like tools) get a Crew Cab.
I have both....my 01 is a crew cab and my 07 is a Super Cab.
I agree with the above, if it'll normally just be you and one passenger I would get the Super Cab.

My CC has a 6' 9" box. The wheelbase is 156.8", that's 13 FEET. You do the math and tell me how well it turns. To give you an idea, if I'm at a stop light and want to do a U-turn from the left turn lane, I need at least 3 lanes on the other side or I'm hitting reverse (or going up on the curb) during the swing. I don't know how the long bed crew cab guys do it. Unfortunately there is no leg room in the Super Cab (same size as the F-150) for my kids. But I wouldn't give up the space I get. It's worth the turning radius of a cruise ship to get the extra cab room, plus I still have almost 7' of bed! The turns are a little wider, but nothing you don't get used to. Some parking lots require some attention, but other than that and U-turns you really don't notice the wheelbase. Plus there is no pillar with the Super Cab which, IMHO, reduces body rigidity when I'm off-roading.
I love the 4 doors AND the long bed. The only time I have an issue is at the mall when you try and manuver down the narrow isle, wiggle into a parking spot, only to discover that your trailer ball is hanging out blocking traffic.
I love my crew cab I have only had it a week but I tried the supercab first I have a 1 year old and there is plenty of room for his car seat. Plus it is a hell of alot easier to climb in the back to get him in and out of his safety seat.
I have had both and love my CC LB, hell in the winter it has a plow on the front and I still go where I want with it. When my two kids have friends or we all go to the store everybody or everything can come into the cab when it is raining or snowing. Beside if (when) you need the room you have it. That's just my opinion.
Look at the spec sheets for the truck there is usually only something like 14" overall difference in length.
put down one more vote for crew cab! if you have any need for a super, there is need for a crew. I have had regular cabs, 3 doors, supers and now a crew. I will never not have a crew again.
