i had mine stolen from the superstore parking lot in fort mac in june..only had the truck a month. They took it for a joy ride and it was found in the bush a month later with all the windows open for the rain to get in and ruin the king ranch leather. Only got the truck back in Nov after full paint and some mechanical work. Truck still does not seem to be 100%. It is a pain in the neck to deal with all the insurance stuff.
glad to hear you got it back soon after they took it hopefully they did not do too much damage
oilersford, Ft Mac is definitely a hot spot. They usually find them in the bush, abandoned and or burnt. Insurance is a pain, we shall see if they work for the regular joe this time. They like you to pay, but when it comes time for them to pay they are very reluctant. I should know this afternoon on the extent of the damages.
Here's to hoping that the damages are minimal
Here's to you getting her back!!
That is a really sweet looking rig. I know it works on the 7.3s but I'm not sure if the wiring is similar enough, but some guys/gals have wired up a kill switch to the IDM relay. No juice to the IDM means she'll spin but not fire. Worst case then might just be a busted ignition, drained batteries, and maybe a toasted starter. Just a thought.

Update; they are starting a long block swap out of the motor tomorrow. They cooked her good. 4 cylinders roasted, both head gaskets gone, coolant was all over the engine bay. They are doing a full service on front end, replacing and inspecting everything, trans also and rear end. Full detail on interior, new seat covers, carpets done etc. After the swap, its over to the alarm shop, see what went wrong, and can integrate a ravelco w/alarm-remote start, and some other ideas my installer is mulling over !!
Damn, how the hell hard where they getting on it to blow the motor in only 15km? I sincerely hope those dead guys where the thieves. Glad you got it back and get a fresh motor, so maybe it ain't such a bad deal LOL. Good thing you excercise more restraint that I- my truck would've come to a rolling stop, because the thief would have a hole in his head. His accomplis, that truck woulda been full of holes too. Damn thiefs need to die a excrutiating painfull death.....
I didn't get the full skinny on it from my mechanic, but it sounds like they popped a rad hose, and just kept on her. When the cops found it, it was idling w/no visible fluid in the res at all. Ouch !!
Well if it were me, I'd be happier about this. Now you don't have to worry what they might have screwed up in the motor. Now can you convince Ford to put the ARP's in the new long block?
