i bought my truck 3 years ago with 89,000 miles (has in line filter). i did a tranny flush last year, put new in line filter along with regular filter. "knock on wood" but i havent' had a single tranny issue since purchase. i plow snow and pull light duty trailors, 5000 pounds. 110,000 miles and about to log off to go outside and add to odometer!!!!
what type of fluid should be run in these trannys will a little bit of lucas hurt? and how much fluid does it hold?
It used Mercon before. Now Ford licenses only Mercon V. Use what you can find. 17.7qts. Disregard warnings in the manual about Mercon V. Ford says it is now fully compatible.
