Just a small safety note. If the metal is galvanized you should remove the coating prior to welding as the fumes are dangerous, grinding or sanding should be done with a dust mask or particle respirator.

Like mentioned above, before welding or adhesive bonding the metal to the body, the area must be ground down to remove the coating. So even though you bought a galvanized part, the places where you weld or adhesively bond will no longer be galvanized. To weld you can use weld thru primer. But no matter what, you must protect the metal after installing to prevent future rust issues. I never install galv patch panels and never will.
