I just recently bought a 1964 f100 short bed styleside truck. Its running and driving numbers matching 292 3 speed on the floor. The only problem is the front 6 inches of the bed is rusted out. I cannot seem to find patch panels and thought about doing a wood bed but it would lose originality. My questions are:
1.Am I able to cut out the bed and use a wood bet kit from LMC? They only offer one for the stepside and I dont know if thatll work for styleside or not
2. Will these pannels from Summit work to patch the bed? http://www.summitracing.com/parts/am...FcNffgod2nEAjQ
Any one else have an easy solution to this problem?
Same Styleside beds: 1964/66 F100/250 2WD & 1966 F100 4WD
Numbers matching is a "GM thing" and no Ford truck after 1952 came with a 3 speed floor shift.
Ford = Flareside, a stepside is a Chevrolet. The Flareside bed is much narrower than a Styleside, because its rear fenders bolt to the outside of the bed panels.
