hey Zip, can you notice any difference without that ring in there?
I haven't really driven it yet since I took it out. I pulled it on Thursday and worked from Friday till now so it has been sitting in the yard. I'll drive it a little more this week once I get/find some more coolant.
I took some pictures today when I put the ring back in.
Picture 1 is the turbo with the ring in place.
Picture 2 is the turbo minus the ring
Picture 3 is the side of the ring you see when looking into the turbo
Picture 4 is the inside of the ring
I just used Air cut off tool cut it out and used dremel to smooth edges out no need for taking it to get it machined off.
P,s you dont need to remove entire turbo just unscrew the front 6 bolts and remove front part. I was in process of removing and putting EGR DELITE kit and new Oil pump so my turbo was out anyway ......

Well not a big difference in noice when idling, but over 2500 rpm it sure has a higher pitch noise like f117 lol, but again I have full turbo back exhaust with cold air intake, and bully dog.
Now if u were referring to oil cooler and egr kit, it sure made a difference : truck engine runs around 200 degree cooler, takes longer to warm up my heat air( frozed my a$$ last night) before it heat my cabin lol
Was at bend Oregon 19f at night lol
