Ok so about a month ago I rebuilt the front end on my ranger. Core support header panels headlights and so on. (on my profile) Well once all done the water pump was leaking so I replaced that as well, it took me about 4 complete installs and removale before I figured out the new o ring had a crack. Once I replaced that part it sealed proper stopped leaking but now it's back.. It looks like it's leaking from the water pump again because I can see it dripping off the bottom pully dead center. Well the only thing with coolent above there is the water pump I just don't know how it's leaking again.. I even used gasket sealer and all. Any ideas or tips thanks
It drippy slowly never seams to drip constant. Sometimes won't drip at all or leak a drop after driving all day but will leak a bit out after sitting over night. Very random never while hot.
Well originally it was the or ring that goes inside to intake hole for the lower radiator hose. It seams to be around the on the lower side of it because the pump is not wet at all on the top
OK, well have a close look at the channel that the "O" ring seats in, to make sure its not rusty, or has debris in it & lube the "O" ring when installing, so it doesn't get roughed up. The other surface the "O" ring seals on, needs to be clean & smooth too.
Use a torque wrench to slowly work the pump fasteners up to spec in say 3 steps, in a cross hatch pattern, so as not to warp the pump casting, if you discover its leaking there again.
