A buddy stopped by tonight and told me he herd/saw on Youtube that the ford 6.0's have a silencer ring in the turbo, if I removed it, it would whistle even louder....
Now I know my Cummins had a ring I removed but it didnt make much differance...
they have them but dont do it. you have to grind it off on the intake side. the guy that made the video on youtube is dumber than a box of rocks. i pretty much in not a nice way told him that on youtube and he deleted my comments and what not. i would never take a cutting wheel to my turbo

+1 the guy in the You tube video was a hack and totally butchered the inlet on his turbo to hell. He didn't even take the time to make a descent cut or grind it smooth. Plus if you grind it off like he did you will also be removing the lip that helps keep the intake tube from slipping off. There are other guys that have had them machined off, but really what is the sense in spending the money to machine the thing out when it gives you a little more sound and no function?
yea comment on that video and tell that guy how dumb he is lol he wouldnt listen to me and tried to start stuff with me but i knew he was all talk and no game being that he live 45 mins away from me and didnt want to meet me at the drag strip
would it even do anything?
the only thing a BOV does is when the throttle blades shut, it prevents pressure build up from spinning the turbo backwards.
if you are talking about a REGULATOR then it will bleed of pressure above a certain value, but a BLOW OFF valve simply dumps all pressure between the turbo and the throttle.
as we all know, diesels dont have throttles.
it would be pointless in my opinion, and probably wouldnt even do anything.
