Up front, I should admit that I'm a staunch user of high-gauss rare-earth magnets in my various lube and hydraulic oil systems.

While I agree with a lot of what they have to say about the positive results of using their (or anybody's) magnets, I believe they attribute WAY too much credit for the overall particulate reduction to them.

It should be remembered that a magnet will only attract and hold ferrous materials. The reductions in the other particles MAY be as a result of less wear due to less ferrous particles floating around in the oil, but certainly not all of it is. They make it sound like ALL particles are attracted to their magnets., which of course, they are not.

While I can believe the results of their tests, I'm not so sure I would come to the same conclusions that they do, and base them on those tests. Those conclusions are very carefully worded, and are somewhat misleading. But they're selling something.

I'm assuming that these are meant to be disposed with the used oil filter?

THAT's a magnet.

Last time I had my trans pan off I added one of these inside in addition to the circular one already in place around the drain plug.
