An old thread I realize but this seemed the most appropriate place to add this:
I looked at and verified as good/not broken all the above suggestions. The torx bolts were nice and tight, the tubes, bushings etc in the column were all fine.
After seeing the post above about a faulty TRS switch I climbed underneath and checked it out. Whaddya know....I had my daughter move the shifter up and down and watched as the cable moved back and forth on the TRS switch but there was no movement in the switch itself.
I tried finding a replacement cable bushing at my local auto parts store but they can't even order one. I ended up ordering one from the website that is shown in the video I've linked here. I will replace the part when it shows up and post here relaying the results.
Last update....part showed up. Had to trim a couple tab a bit because they were a little large.
BUT - removed old clip as shown in the video, installed new clip, again as shown in the video and voila, perfect once again!
Even with trimming the tabs a hair the whole process took maybe 15 minutes.
Nice tight selector again.
I was tightening those torx screws this morning and the casting that the upper screw threads into broke. I need to know what that part is called so i can get another one. Can anyone help me with this?
Thanks
Shawn
