I've known Andy for several years and he pointed me to this forum. I am now the semi-proud owner of a 2003 Explorer Eddie Bauer 4.6. I say semi-proud because I've only had possession of it for two days before it went back to the dealer with a transmission and wheel bearing issue (only 48k on the clock). Long story: this is my third Ex. My previous '97 5.0 AWD Ex was totaled by some bonehead about three weeks ago. Found this '03 for sale and seemed like a good deal. At least the dealer is standing up and taking care of (most) of it. They originally wanted to put in a used, 80k tranny - which I just don't see the point in a less than 50k truck. I'm going to have Denny and Denny's Transmission (Bristol, CT) do a rebuild for about $2000 which should be a little more stout than stock. Once I actually have the Ex here again, I'll post up some pictures.
Andy, thanks for the advise and for showing me the light!
BTW, anyone know of a common problem to look for with heated seats? The passenger side works great, the driver's side not so much....
Aaron, I see in your sig that you have (or had) a Yami XJ750. Seca, right? The '82 Seca 750 was my first street bike back in 1987. Good solid ride. After the Seca, I went to an '89 FZR 600, then a '94 Kawi ZX-9R, and now an '05 Kawi ZX-10R. Fun!
Hello, my name is Rusty Dailey. I'm in the Navy currently stationed in Groton. I have a '99 F-250 with a few mods, always looking to do something else.
