I didn't mention it in my last post but reasonably sure the lady that answered the phone said it was ICU unit and that would explain the family only deal

No it's not, but would explain the no phone calls as well. Our ICU don't allow cell phones and no phones in the room.

From recent experience

From recent experience with my brother's troubles, CCU is the "Cardiac Care Unit, as opposed to ICU, or "Intensive Care Unit". The cardiac unit is for heart troubles like my brother had or things related to the circulation system, and the ICU can be for folks injured in accidents not necessarily related to an illness but other truamas.
I would think they would be standard across the country, but at least in Tennessee and South Carolina, that is what they are called.....Hopefully he is doing better, or at least there are hopes for a good outcome. This not knowing is getting scarey for sure.......GET WELL MARK!!!

Just my 2cents on ICU...if you're sick(or nearly dead as I was) that's the place to be. I was in the ICU for 4 wks after I got shot. I received constant attention.
Yes by it's nature it denotes "Serious" but I believe in the medical field. They hover over you there and have every piece of equipment available to sustain you.
I used to joke that they would wake me up to give me sleeping pills.

Lots of prayers for my friend Mark...and his family.

Mark:

My comrade in words, buddy, if you see this, call me. You have my number.

Keep your spirit high and give those nurses hell. As long as you do that, they will give you hell right back.

Prayers and a candle has been lit.

At Carl, that is so true, wake you up just to give you a pain shot. I never could figure that out.

He is in rough shape.. and needs your thoughts and prayers more then ever..Sorry for the bad news..
