We have never really got into detail as to what is really wrong.. But it is a heart/lung combo issue right now..
I am sorry for not getting a lot of detail out there.. I didnt really get a chance to ask her if I could.. It is kind of like handing out a phone number with out getting permission.. You are pretty sure you can.. but you really want to clear it first..
I noramlly live by " it is easier to ask forgiveness, then ask for permission" but not when it comes to things that are that sensitive..
I if I get the go ahead, I will record it, and type it word for word... May take a month to get all of the propper spelling..
I just got off the phone with Marks friend.. I am going to share as much as I can.. He is still on a breathing machine.. He is battling with an infection, but he is as orniary as you would expect.. and he is not wanting to stay in is bed...
All of the well wishes will be forwarded to him as soon as she can..
Thank you for the new update Pat. Please let Mark's friend know that we all appreciate the updates and to please pass along how much we all miss him and let him know we are all pulling for him.
You are all welcome!!!.. But all I am doing is being the inbetween.. any/every one of you would do the same.. I dont think it deserves anything more then your thoughts, well wishes, prayers, what have you .. for Mark..It has been said, this is a great group to be part of...
Sounds like pneumonia or something if he is fighting an infection and on a breathing machine. And if that is what it is it would makes sense that he was sick and let it go too long. It is a nasty infection and can take a while to kick.

Pat, you are doing a terrific job as that go-between. thanks!
Thanks Pat, that explains the no balloons, no visitors thing. They are probably discourging any visits and the ones that do have to gown up and limit there visit. 15 years of hanging around nurses hearing stories have taught me one thing, Mark truly is in the fight for his life.
Hang in there you old yank. You still have a lot more feathers left to ruffle.

This part to me is great news. I've seen too many people get in the hospital and mentally give up. If he's still raising as much **** as he can in there, he's got a much better chance of fighting through this.
Of course knowing Mark the way we do, I'm starting to wonder if we shouldn't have sent the balloons to the nurses that have to put up with him.
