If both trucks are automatic just put a sheet of 3/4" steel in your bed
That's a sport I use to be king at in this area

Thanks for the idea! I know exactly where we already have one too.

I was trying to think of what I could use for ballast.

Yes they're both autos. Well. I'm pretty sure his is an auto trans. I know mine is.

I figure I'll drop my truck into 4 low and put it in 1st gear.

I figure a 5/8" grade 80 transport chain ought to hold up to something like that.

Hopefully I'll have time to get a 4" exhaust and 6637 into my truck. I think that'd help pretty significantly. Having a DP would be the ultimate, but I dunno if I'll be able to convince my parents I need one by then.

I've got to convince them because I have no CC and theres no DP dealerships so I can't use cash.

Edit: I may have figured out a way around that. Maybe I could snail mail cash to Jim who could order a DP with tunes of my choice and have it shipped to me where I intercept it at the door. Just a thought...

That's good to know.

I definitely want to open my exhaust/intake up before I try to tug this guy's truck around.

He's crafty.

He's got a Ranger that's got a 6" body lift just so that it will fit the engine under the hood. He says it gets 5mpgs. Of course I broke his ***** about how that was no worse than what his V10 gets. I forget what kind of engine he said it was though.

He asked me if I wanted to try to pull his Ranger instead of his V10. He forgot he already told me about the Ranger. Heh...

if you pull against a lifted truck you need a long chain or equal hitches

His V10 is stock ride height. His Ranger's ride height is about the same ride height as my PowerStroke. I've got a pretty large assortment of hitches available to me because of dad's business so I don't think it will be a big issue.

I'd be more than happy to do that for you Pete. You can always mail Jody and Diane a money order too!

That's a good idea too! Hmm.. Thanks for being so helpful all the time, Jim. It's nice to see good, helpful moderators.

On the note of money orders: I went to the bank on Saturday with dad to get a cashiers check for 950$ because I needed a 5% bid security thing or some such nonsense.

I went there with 950$ cash in hand. I tried to get a cashiers check. Sorry only money orders below 1k. Alrighty. Can I have a money order? Sorry you have to deposit the money first and then withdraw it as a money order. Ok. The tension level is just rising with every answer here. So we deposit the money. 950$ cash plus the 5$ fee for the money order. Then she says "Oh it doesn't come up as accessible funds." Ratchet that stress level up one more notch. So then I tell em to just give me my cash back so I can go to Stop&Shop to get a Western Union money order. Then she needs to call her manager to see if she's allowed to give me my @#%#$ CASH back to me. Crossed the street and went to Stop&Shop. They had to give me 2 money orders instead of one since they are capped at 500$. It cost me 2$ and NO frustration to have STOP&SHOP do what the bank could not do for 5$.

Pretty pathetic on the bank's part IMO.
