I have changed GPs on mine, but didn't have a problem and am not completely familar with layout. Is there a chance you can drill it with a left hand drill bit? Not to drill it out but to reduce the inside diameter to a point that it can be pulled back out? You also have the opportunity for it to spin with the bit and come out with the bit. Just a thought.
Start it up. Let the compression from the piston pop that sucker out. It has worked for others. Just watch where you aim it because it will fly out like a bullet.

That could be dangerous. However, it might be your only option.

I read a post on FTE about a year ago where a guy did exactly that. But, he took a punch and marked it so he could carefully tap the tip in and break it loose without pushing it completely through the head. Then he blew it out by turning the engine over.
any progress on this issue yet? it doesnt look like you can even get a hold of the plug anymore, i though i read in the earlier pages that you can, or could..... if so then the small picture that action posted of the visegrips on a slidehammer has been my tool of choice. if possible get a hold of the plug and while its clamped smack it down into the cylinder so it becomes loose then you can work it out with the slide hammer and then drive it in and out till it pops out of the cylinder head. but from your pics it looks like you broke it off flush way down in there.
if it is broke off inside where you cant get to it then the only other thing i had success with is starting with the smallest drill bit you can find drill a hole into the plug and then keep working your way up one size at a time until the plug tip pops free then you can fish it out. you will probably have to remove the injector to get enough room to fit the drill and bit in there. also if you try the slide hammer method remove the injector anyway, its better then snapping the lock tab off that injector solonoid.

sorry i have been away for a while. this whole situation got me frustrated so i took a week off from it. (just to find out my brothers 97 needs a turbo.) joe, i had the tips showing but i welded the outer case to the part that was stickiing out. i thought they broke loose when i was turning them out, but they broke alright... right in the head. i attempted to take the ex manifold out and got 5 bolts out. tried sea foam, impact gun, breaker bar...no luck on the other 3. i wanted to try what madvan suggested with the "fishing trip" but im stuck with out it off. gonna try to drill the heads off the bolts. a guy around the corner from me suggested that if i need to get the heads off, pull the engine to make head removal/installation easier. what do you guys think?
