Sometimes loud, sometimes quiet?

Does anybody else's truck run real smooth and quiet somedays and loud with less power other days? I have tried everything to figure out a way to keep it quiet and smooth - different fuel additives, egr unplugged, egr plugged in. Will 2 stroke do the trick or should i try bio? I have never had a more inconsistent vehicle in my life.

I know my truck is a little bit quieter/smoother with my EGR plugged in. I keep it unplugged though.

From someone that uses bio I can tell you mine does this also. I don't think its a problem and might be EGR or programming control. Don't sweat it mine seems to run just fine just differnt now and then.

Thanks guys for the replies. hey matt, i am thinking about running 10% bio because the only station is 40 mi away. is there anything i need to know that you experienced? Clogged fuel filters, quicker changes? Do you add any additive? Also, any mileage gains? thanks

10% will be no problem and will act as a good additive. The bio works well as a cleaner and will clean the entire system. Depending on how many miles you have you may want to change fuel filters after the first few tanks on fuel. You will notice it will quiet down that diesel knock some and if you do decied to run highier % just be carefull of the cold weather as it does gell faster than winter blend diesel. I run about a 50% in winter with no problems so far .
Good Luck and check out biodiesel.org for a list of retailers.

I notice it runs louder and more lazy when its cold, and smoother & quieter when really warm.
